Our campers, ranging from 8-17 years old, experience a wide variety of traditional in-camp activities and a unique series of wilderness tripping adventures that increase in challenge as they grow older. Our girls return year after year to test themselves and to bond with their cabin mates while each girl discovers that there is more grit and grace within her than she could have imagined.
We develop leaders with a sense of self and who possess the strength of character necessary to meet the challenges of the world in which they live. We honor the words of Helen Keller – “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”
Wavus runs two 26-day sessions and two 10-day Junior Wavus sessions for girls in grades 2-4.
First Session: Jun 23 – Jul 18
Second Session: Jul 21 – Aug 15
Junior Wavus I: Jul 2 – Jul 11
Junior Wavus II: Jul 30 – Aug 8
We embrace the notion that we learn a great deal about ourselves and each other through play. From the time we raise the flag before breakfast in the morning, the day is packed with excitement and energy. In the mornings, campers experience activities assigned by cabin in order to encourage them to try new things, and then everyone goes for a swim in the lake.
After lunch and a rest hour, campers choose their own activities and might spend time with friends from other cabins. After another dip in the lake, campers enjoy a bit of free time before dinner. We cap off the day with a whole camp evening activity before lowering the flag in the evening.
