PREPARING FOR CAMP

The 2026 Family Handbook is available here. It contains all the important and fun information to help prepare for camp!

Family Partnership Agreement

We cherish the responsibility of caring for your camper this summer, and we know that a healthy working partnership between KWE and every family is required to make this experience successful for them. To that end, we are asking that you:

  • Read the Family Handbook each year to familiarize yourself and your camper with camp, our expectations, our educational philosophy, and our policies;
  • Understand that when we don’t communicate proactively, it’s to care for the privacy and well-being of every camper involved in an incident; and
  • Agree to work collaboratively with camp directors when issues arise, trusting that our intent is always to help your camper grow and provide everyone with the safest possible camp experience.

All families must submit the form below to confirm that you have read the handbook and agree with 2026’s Family Partnership Agreement.

Thank you for entrusting us with your camper. We are so excited for the summer!

    Medical Forms

We are required by the State of Maine to have all health forms on file before your camper arrives. To access all camper forms, log into your CampInTouch account. Please inform us of any significant health changes that occur after you submit these forms. This includes new medical conditions, new medications or allergies, injuries, etc.

    TRAVEL INFORMATION

Travel information can be accessed through your CampInTouch account once established. If you have any questions please contact us.

If you have any questions, please contact Kieve Registrar & Coordinator Emmaline Brisk at emmaline@kwe.org.

    CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT

To assist parents in outfitting their children for camp, below are clothing and equipment lists intended to answer many questions that may arise. By all means, bring things you already own or shop at a local sporting goods store if you prefer.

    * All articles should be clearly marked with sew-on labels or indelible ink!

THE ROLE AND VALUE OF RISK

Kieve Wavus Education has always been and will continue to be committed to the health, well-being, and personal growth of participants and staff in all KWE programs.  KWE acknowledges, understands, and respects the inherent risks associated with our programming, including ropes courses, climbing walls, wilderness tripping and the many activities that are a part of our KWE programs.  Risk management is a priority at KWE and we work diligently to identify, assess and manage these risks.

    FINANCIAL AID

Kieve Wavus Education is a non-profit organization committed to accessibility. We extend need-based financial aid ranging from a portion of tuition to the complete cost of camp, including travel and equipment associated with camp. Financial aid is rewarded on a rolling basis, first-come, first-serve. Learn more about how to apply here.
